Climate Solutions, Cool Cities and The Dream Reborn: Presented by Stephen Hazell and Lindsay Telfer
Please join us for an evening of lively and empowering discussion of Climate Solutions and Clean Energy for a Just Alberta! As oil prices continue to soar, how can we as a community and a province produce the energy we require while being respectful to the land and people?
Stephen Hazell, Executive Director of Sierra Club Canada, will begin the evening with a presentation on a new grassroots movement sweeping the country. Cool Cities Canada is an innovative campaign to address climate change through strategic action at the municipal level.
Lindsay Telfer, Director of Sierra Club Prairie, will present her experiences upon attending "The Dream Reborn" conference in Memphis, Tennessee. The Dream Reborn was a racially-just event that focused on sharing and inspiring ecological solutions to heal the earth while providing green jobs, justice, wealth, and healthy communities for all.
Presentations will be followed by questions, sharing, brainstorming and more!
Come out and take part in a true sharing of visions, solutions, and action! Hear about what IS possible for Alberta when people mobilize locally, enjoy some free snacks, and share your thoughts with us on how we can all work together to build a clean, just and green future for our communities.

The Sierra Club of Canada - Prairie Chapter has released the "Alberta Smart Growth Report" . Written by former Edmonton City Councillor Allan Bolstad, the report details the many roadblocks toward smart growth in Alberta - not the least of which is the provincial government - and the steps that need to be taken to encourage sustainable urban development.
